The Mississippi SNAP Program, otherwise identified as the Mississippi Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, allows individuals and families with low incomes to get monthly food stamp benefits. The regulations regarding the program including benefit maximums, resource limitations, income limitations, and eligibility guidelines are established by the federal government. If you are disabled, elderly, have a low income, receive Social Security Income, receive TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), work part time, are unemployed, or if you are presently working for low wages, you might actually be eligible to participate in the Mississippi SNAP Program.
There are several methods you can use to apply for the Mississippi SNAP Program. You can contact the local county office near you and apply in person, on the telephone, through faxing documentation to the office or you can apply through the mail.
